On the mountains above Palermo there is the most
grandiose and spectacular work, the
Cathedral of Monreale. The interior is completely covered by precious golden mosaics of Byzantine art, in their
representations, tell stories of the Old and New Testament. The cloister then is a true corner of
paradise.
